Five Question Friday!

Good Morning, Friends!  This is going to be a great weekend!  The Hubs and I are going on a date tonight for his birthday =).  Then tomorrow we get to hang with my bro and sis in law, Mr. and Mrs. Pickles!  We haven't seen them in way too long.  We're excited to see them!

And Firecracker wants to see them most of all.  He has begged me for weeks to see my niece and nephew, the Princess and Tank.  We haven't told him yet that tomorrow he'll get to see them.  I'm sure he's going to flip!

Alrighty, on with the five question fun! Once again thanks to Mama M. for letting me link up.

1. How many times have you moved and do you have any tips?
In my life time?  Or since I've been an adult?  I'm going with since I've become an adult.  Let's see I've moved about 9 times (including moving to and from college).  I really don't have any tips, because it's been 5 1/2 years since I moved last and I'm really ok with that.  I despise moving.

2. Do you have a budget for the holidays, or just keep sliding the credit card and have a heart attack in Jan?
We do have a system for buying Christmas presents.  It involves me buying presents from clearance racks all year long.  So we don't really have a budget per se but whenever I find a good deal I make it work with my grocery budget.  We're not big credit card users. We avoid it whenever possible.

3. What is the one medical thing you avoid like the plague?
I despise the dentist.  I hate, hate, hate, double hate, loathe entirely, the dentist. They give you shots, they smell awful (the office not necessarily the dentist themselves, although I'm sure there are some stinky dentists out there and that would make it worse!) and they have those awful drills.  You know the ones that go "zzzz, zzzzzz, zzzzzzzz".  If you've ever been to the dentist you know the sound I mean.  Anyway, I avoid the dentist whenever possible.  Even when I know I need to go.  Oh and to make it all that much worse when you leave the dentist you look like you've had a stroke and you drool every where for 2 to 4 hours.

  4. What your least favorite Christmas song?
I am a hard core Christmas lover.  I'm all about everything Christmas. So I'm going to have to say I'm not against any Christmas song.  However, I don't care for remakes.  I like Taylor Swift, but I'd much rather hear Bing Crosby sing "White Christmas".

5. This Christmas are you spending more, less or about the same? Why? Every year I strive to spend less.  I am a cheapskate.  Anyone who knows me knows that about me.  I always try to get off as cheaply as possible.  This is one of the reasons the Hubs is so perfect for me.  He is a generous soul.  He reminds me that people are more important than things and that sometimes we need to give just a little bit more.  He is the ying to my yang, the Sonny to my Cher, the whipped cream to my pumpkin pie.  God knew what He was doing when He put us together.

Well, I hope you all have a wonderful weekend!

Merry Christmas,
Ms. T

Birthday Boy!

Today is a monumental day.  Today is the day that my Prince Charming was brought into this world xx years ago ;).  I'm so happy his parents were pro life!

There are not enough words to express how much I love him.  He's awesome, kind, caring, loving, sweet, a fabulous Daddy to our babies, understanding and patient.  I thank God every day for allowing me to have this kind of love.

Hubs, I love you soooo much!  Happy Birthday!

And here's the Hubs doing one of his favorite things: playing with fire ;)

Hope you all have a great Hubs birthday!

Puke

Sweet pea got sick on Sunday and puked all over herself and her car seat on the way to church.  Since then the Hubs and I have cleaned up mucho puke-o.

Sweet pea seemed to be doing better yesterday.  Her fever had pretty much broken and she hadn't puked in 24 hours.  She was still clingy, but it looked like we were past the worst of it.

You'll never guess what I woke up to this morning.  Firecracker was crying an unusual cry.  When I ran into his room he had puked all over his bed.  Yay (please read that with TONS of sarcasm).  What a way to start the morning.

I have decided to start a reverse bucket list.  A list filled with things I never want to do again before I die.  Cleaning up puke happens to be numero uno on the list as of today.

Wishing you a non puke filled day!

Merry Christmas!

Its Here!!

Its here!!!  It's official Christmas has reached my house!  =)  We got our Christmas tree up this last weekend.  I finagled the Hubs into wrangling all the decorations and the tree out of the attic and help me set it up.  The Hubs was not in the high Christmas spirits I was in.  However, to his credit, aside from my Mama and Mrs. Clause I don't know if anyone has the same adoration for Christmas as I do.

It's hard not to get in the Christmas spirit.  The world is a different place at Christmastime.  Jesus is celebrated, people are generally in better moods, the air chills to a nice temperature (at least in my neck of the woods), kids are excited about the prospect of presents, adults love making children happy and on top of all those fabulous things, there is SPLENDID food!  Granted the food causes us to gain 234,354 pounds, but it's sooooo worth it!

Sorry, I got off on a rabbit trail.... Anyway now, our home is officially Christmasfied!  I love it! When I was a kid I would sit in the dark with no lights on but the Christmas tree and stare at itI'm sure now that the tree is up I'll find myself with all the lights off except the tree and watch it while I drink my hot cocoa.  There's just something about the peace and quiet and a lit up tree that makes me feel all cozy inside and that for just that moment everything seems right in the world.

And just for added effect here is a picture of our beautiful tree, and maybe a few of a handsome little fella that helped decorate it ;)

In true Firecracker style he helped put exactly 3 ornaments on the tree and then he was ready to do something else! Hahaha!  Gotta love him!

Merry Christmas!

My New Love

I've found a new love of my life.  Hubs, I'm sorry you had to hear it like this.  I've fallen in love with.... Wait for it..... Yoga Pants!  Oh my goodness!  I have seen women wearing them before and thought they looked just as comfortable as regular sweat pants.  So I never thought much about buying a pair.

Well, some of my sweat pants needed to be replaced and a store I went into had yoga pants on a GREAT sale so I picked up a pair.  Oh my word!!!!  They are fabulous!!! So comfortable and soft.

If it were possible to marry inanimate objects I would marry yoga pants and have their babies.  Oh my goodness.  If you have been hesitant to purchase any I must say forget that.  Go, run, make haste to the nearest store and buy as many pairs of yoga pants they have.  Trust me, you will thank me.  Plus, they are not as constricting as regular pants.  Hello!  Who doesn't need a little extra wiggle room during the Holidays?

Merry Christmas!

5 Question Friday

Good Morning, Friends!  It's Friday!!!  Yippee!!!  Tomorrow we're finally going to put our Christmas tree up! =)  I LOVE looking at beautiful Christmas trees and lights.  They remind me of being a kid.

Alright on with the 5 question fun!  Once again thanks to Mama M. for letting me link up.

1. What do you give teachers for gifts?
Well, since my munchkins aren't in school yet we don't give teacher gifts yet.  But I know there are lots of great things teachers would love.  Gift cards being the top of the list.

2. Do you text? One finger texter or total pro? I text yes.

My phone has a full keyboard so I use 2 fingers to text, but I would not consider myself a total pro.  I can get my idea across and that's really all that matters.  Ya know what I mean?

3. Do you give back during the holidays? If so, in what way/which is your favorite charity?

Yes, we always give back during the holidays.  We love Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child.  We fill shoe boxes with toys, candy and toiletry items and send them over seas to children who would never have a Christmas otherwise.

4. If you would've been the sole winner of the 575+ million dollar Powerball jackpot, what would you have done with all that money? Oh my.  First I would go on a cruise.  The Hubs and I went on a cruise for our honey moon and it was fabulous!  We haven't had the moola to go on another one.  After we got back from our cruise, we would build our own gated community.  And in this community we would build homes, but only for people we love.  We would all live close and we could allow our children to go outside and play without worrying about perverts or kidnappers.  And our kids would not fall in with "bad kids", because we would know the neighbors and their kids (heck we hand picked them!).  After that we would pay off our family's debt and probably give each family member a tidy sum.  Doesn't that sound fabulous?

The only problem with this plan?  We didn't buy a lotto ticket.  Sure we thought about it, but on the whole we knew it was such a small chance, especially since people who don't normally buy lotto tickets were buying them because of the huge jackpot so the chances were even smaller than normal.

5. Will you please take just a moment to spread the word and pray about Mama M.'s friend's missing family members? Yes, I've already prayed for them and will continue to.

Merry Christmas!  And have a great weekend!

Things I've learned About Myself

I've learned several things about myself since I became a parent.

1. I'm not above bribery.  Bribery can accomplish so much and in a much nicer tone than threatening can ;).  I am not afraid of bribing my children to get them to behave.

2. I've learned that at least for the next 20 years I'll never be left alone.  Not even while I'm in the bathroom.  Even when I lock them out they still call to me through the door and sometimes even stick their hands as far under the door as they possibly can.

3. I've learned that no matter how long my children's sleeping pattern has continued in one way as soon as I rely on it to stay that way it will change.

4.  Learning how wonderful the world is when you're "experiencing" it for the first time through your children's eyes.

I'm sure I'll learn more things I didn't know about myself since I'm not done being a Mommy.

Merry Christmas!
