Random

Ok, you people know me and how wackadoodle I am and to prove that further here are a few random thoughts that have been running through my head as of late.  (You like that long, run on sentence? ;)

Doggie strollers.  What in the world?!  Isn't the point of taking your dog on a walk for BOTH of you to get exercise?  I need one some one to explain this to me.

I love when Firecracker and O play football and they say things like, "I'm going to make a 'touch my down'!"

A fruit snack wrapper or a cheese wrapper can go through the washer and dryer with little or no damage done to anything.  Gum however causes problems.  Ask me how I know this.....

Ok, explain to me 5th/3rd bank.  These people deal with money and therefore should know math.  They should be 1&2/3rd bank.

The End (for now.... )

Hope you all have a great day!
Ms. T

Both

Ok, I'll admit it.  I talk to myself.  When I'm walking through the grocery store, just as an example, because it is by no means confined to there, I'll say things like, "well, this would be a good deal, but I could get it at ______ and get another 1.00 off this week."  I have even been called on it by Firecracker.  I'll be talking to myself about something or other and he'll say, "what'd you say, Mom?"  Poor kid, thinks I'm talking to him!

I think most of us Mommies can admit that we talk to ourselves some times.  And I've often heard it said that talking to yourself isn't the problem.  The problem comes when you ANSWER yourself.  Well, I don't even think that's when the problem arises.  At least in my highly professional opinion I don't.

I do believe the problem arises when you start saying things like, "I think we can both agree that ________."  I caught myself doing this the other day, and I laughed out loud at myself.  When did I start going absolutely nutty?!  I'm going to trace it back to March 21, 2009 at about 7 pm.  That is the time Firecracker came into this world.  And subsequently I joined the Mommy club and learned the secret handshake.  And suddenly all the things other Mommies do that I thought were silly, became totally sane and understandable.

Hope you all have a great day!

5 Question Friday

Good Morning, Friends!  It’s Friday!!  Yay!  Today is going to be awesome!  The Hubs managed to wrangle a work from home day so it’s almost like my weekend has already started!  =)  Have I told you I love having him around?
Okie dokie let’s start with the fun!  Once again thanks to Mama M. for letting us link up.

1. What album/cd/download are you embarrassed to admit you have?
I’m proud to admit that I own the Nsync Christmas cd =).  And yes, I do still listen to it.  It brings back great memories.  My friends in Highschool and I would listen to Nsync and argue about who was going to marry whom.  Ahhh great times ;)

2. What's the one thing your spouse does better than you?
Fix computery stuff.  The Hubs is a wiz when it comes to that stuff.  (It doesn’t hurt he’s got a college degree in it ;). He's better at grilling than me, he's better at stressful stuff than I am. He’s also better than me at shooting guns.  I’ve been a long time gun lover, but my shooting isn’t all it should be anymore.  I don’t really get a chance to practice.  The Hubs though somehow maintained all his shooting skills and can kick my booty!  P.S. if you were thinking of breaking into my house, I strongly discourage it.

3. When do you start buying Halloween Candy?
Whenever there is a good deal.  I actually just bought some a couple of days ago, because I got 2 bags of twix for 1.50 each!  SCORE!!

4. Family closets - Yay or nay?
Nope, I couldn’t do this.  I am too much of a lazy organizer to let this happen.  (I know you’re thinking lazy and organizer don’t go together, but oh yes they do.  I am living proof.  You see I love to organize.  I get a bee in my bonet about a particular room and go at it.  However, days go by, things get crazy and the organization slowly, or sometimes not so slowly, gets undone.  See? Lazy.)  Anyway, my point is that I couldn’t have Sweet Pea’s clothes in with Firecracker’s or their clothes in with mine, because it’d drive me insane.

5. Which home/cleaning chore do you hate the most? Why?
It really depends on the day.  Some days I despise vacuuming, others I hate dishes.  I guess it really depends on what I’ve been doing a ton of.  When I have to do one specific chore more than usual I start to despise it.  I’m just a complainer.  I should be thankful that I have a home that I get to clean.

Hope you all have a great weekend!
Ms. T

The Great Sippy Cup Hunt

If you're anything like me your children drink out of sippy cups.  Because you don't want to follow them around and clean up spills all day long.  However, there is a very specific trade off that you get with this.

My children carry their sippy cups everywhere.  The only problem with this is that often the sippy cups have a tendency to disappear.  Then you end up spending 10 to 15 minutes hunting for them.  It's like a grown up version of Easter egg hunting, but the prize at the end isn't as fun as candy.  And more often than not when you are hunting for that day's sippy cup you end up finding ones from other days that you couldn't find.  Yeah, I'm sure you can imagine how fabulous it is to find a sippy cup half full of milk that has been missing for 2 days.

Let's just say I've become a pro at learning how to clean sippy cups well enough to where they no longer stink like rotten milk.  SICK NASTY!! When Firecracker was little if I found a sippy cup with rotten milk in it I would just pitch it.  But if I threw out all the sippy cups with rotten milk in them now days, we would not have any sippy cups left within 2 weeks time!  And good grief have you priced sippy cups lately?!  I'd go broke!

And now I must go and probably hunt for another cup!  Have a great day!

My Ode to Matchbox Cars

Matchbox cars, matchbox cars I find you everywhere
inside blankets, in the hall and underneath the chairs.
My babies leave you carelessly strewn about the house,
making my cleaning skills look like those of a louse.

Matchbox cars, matchbox cars, you give my children joy,
they play with you over and over more than any other toy.
Sweet pea plays with you even though she's a girl,
And Firecracker plays with you and at the wall you hurl.

Matchbox cars, matchbox cars, I'm glad you are around,
but please could you make sure all of you are found?
I do not like to step on you when you're everywhere,
because too often I end up on my dairy aire.

The End

I hope you have a great day!

All Fun And Games

Last Saturday the Hubs and I went to my Brother In Law, Big G., and Sister In Law, Mrs. Big G.'s house for a game night.  We talked, laughed, ate pizza and played Scategories. While we were playing our games, having our conversations, and eating our pizza.  Our kids ate and then were playing.  The 4 of them ran around, played and of course a few fights were broken up.  It's gonna happen when there are 4 munchkins under the age of 4 running around.

Sweet Pea is going to be a tough girl for sure.  She was rough and tumble with those 3 boys, Firecracker, Eeyore, and No-no (this is for real his nick name! hahaha!).  And she's got the bruises to prove it!  Sweet Pea didn't miss a beat.  I didn't even realize she had the bruises til we left. The kids loved most of the minutes.  The only minutes they didn't love were those where some one fell down or was pushed down, or they were fighting over a toy. Ahh the joys of parenting!

All this rambling to say, we had a great time.  We were silly, the kids were silly and many laughs were had.  Family is great!

Hope you have a great day!

Numbers

October.  Today starts OCTOBER.  October, People!  Good grief!  Where has the year gone?  It seems like yesterday I was making my new years resolutions. It would have been really belated if I had written my resolutions yesterday.  Or maybe super early!  It depends in how you look at it.  Anyway, several numbers pop into my head realizing today is October.

30- days til Halloween
36- days til we vote
85- days til CHRISTMAS!
85- days til Tank, my nephew's, birthday
86- days til Ms. L and I's birthday!
Too many- Christmas presents I have yet to buy (I'm usually close to done by now)
91- days we have left in 2012

Surprisingly I'm not super stressed out about these numbers.  I'm actually cool with it, well except the Christmas presents thing... need to get on that.  BRING IT! ;)

Hope you have a great day!  Happy October!
Ms. T
