5 Question Friday!

The weekend is here!  Actually, I have been dreading this weekend.  The Hubs has a very busy weekend ahead and so I will hardly get to see him :(.  Oh well, it's only one weekend out of our married life.  We'll make up for it ;).

Anyway, enough with my whining and on with the fun!  Once again thanks to Mama M. for letting us link up!

1.  What giveaway would you like to do on your blog?
I would love to be able to give away one million dollars of my sixty-four gagillion dollar lottery winnings.  I’ll let you know when I win. (P.s. I don’t play…. That might make it take just a smidge longer…. ;)

2.  If you had to choose between natural artistic ability and natural athletic ability, which would it be?
I’m going with artistic ability, because there comes a point in time when your body won’t do athletics anymore (I’m pretty sure my body is there, or close!).  Either is amazing though.

3.  Do you ditch the coat the minute it becomes "spring" or are you a holdout for more cool temps?
This is a hard one, because where I live there really isn’t “spring”.  We have 2 temperatures, hot and cold (and our cold isn’t cold to some people).  Right now we’ve moved out of cold and right into hot.  So definitely no coat.

4.  What would you do if you won the mega millions lotto of 1/2 billion dollars?
I’ve already committed to giving away one million of it on my blog.  The rest I have big plans for.  The Hubs and I have a dream of buying a big plot of land and making our own subdivision on it.  We would build houses only for people we trust and then we wouldn’t have to worry about Firecracker or Sweet pea going out to play outside.  And they could go down the street and play with their cousins, or to Gram and Papa’s house or Grandpop’s house.  Oh to be able to do this!  It’s a wonderful dream.

5.  You are at a hotel by yourself...what do you do?
I would do what any mother of small children would do, SLEEP.  I would sleep as long as my body would let me.  Then I would go crazy and take a long shower without worrying about whether or not the kids are up and getting into anything.  Wild and crazy plans huh? ;)
Hope you all have a great weekend!
Ms. T

Story of A Swing Set

Once upon a time there was a swing set that was on clearance after Christmas.  A wonderful Hubs found out about this find (through a fantastic sister in law) and plopped down the cashola to make a small boy very happy on his birthday.

Fast forward about 3 months and it was time for this swing set to make it's way out of the attic and to be set up in the back yard for the small boy's enjoyment.  A strong, beautiful woman (hint hint that's me! =) climbed up into the attic to help the wonderful Hubs get the swing set (still in it's box) out.  Then the wonderful Hubs hauled the awkward box into the backyard, spread out all the pieces and put the whole thing together.

The small boy was whisked away after nap time by the strong, beautiful woman to the fantastic sister in law's house to play so the surprise wasn't ruined.  The wonderful Hubs sent a text when the job was completed and the small boy and his strong, beautiful mommy came home to see the wonderful surprise that awaited them.

The small boy was EXTATIC and can't wait to play on the swing set again.

Hope you all have a great day!!

Chocolate Hunter

Sweet pea is definitely her Mama's daughter!  Yesterday I was eating a chocolate cupcake while holding her and she lunged for it.  I was too quick for her though (a life time of protecting chocolate from others will do that ;).  While I was pulling the rest of the wrapper off though she grabbed it and started gnawing on the crumbs inside of it.  I had to wrestle it out of her grasp.  My Mom and I laughed at how Sweet pea is not going to have to be coerced into eating her 1 year birthday cake.

After a little while, I put Sweet pea on the floor so I could do some cleaning.  Unbenounced to me I had spilled some crumbs from the cupcake onto the floor.  Guess who found them and started shoveling them into her mouth as quickly as she could?  I guess she knew that Mama would be cleaning them up as soon as I saw them! Hahaha!  My sweet baby girl is addicted to chocolate already!  No doubt she is my girl.  I Love her to bits.

Hope you all have a great day =)

Date Night

Last Friday night the Hubs and I went out on a date night!  We hadn't been able to have one in far too long.  One reason or another you know how it goes.

Well, our date night consisted of going to the eye doctor to get my new glasses prescription, waiting for 15 minutes at Olive Garden for them to seat us.  They apparently forgot about us or something so we left and ate at Arby's.  Such high class dining ;).  After which we went and watched "This Means War" at the theater.

All this was made possible because my sweet parents baby sat my sweet little munchkins.  Thanks again, Gram and Papa!!! =)

Hope you all have a great day!

Firecracker's "Birthday Party"

Maybe "birthday party" is too strong a term considering the only guests were family.  But it was still fun, and I still had to get my house reasonably clean, so it still counts =).

The Firecracker was so excited about having "his friends" (aka his cousins) come to his house!  He was also super psyched about having cupcakes!  Who could blame him there?  Who isn't a fan of cupcakes?!

The event went spectacularly.  We ate,  talked, let the kids play on the new swing set (more on that in another post) and the Firecracker got to open presents.  All in all it was a success.  Low key, yes, but a success none the less =).

Hope you all have a great day!

5 Question Friday!

Happy Friday!!  It's gonna be a fun weekend for sure!  Let's dive right in shall we?  Thanks again to Mama M. for letting us link up.

1.  If you were free to just hop in the car and drive, where would you go? Or, if you could hop a plane and go anywhere, where?
I would hop on a plane and head to Maine to meet my newest nephew.  He was just born 2 days ago and man am I jonesing to get my hands on him!  I hate that I live so far away =(.

2.  What's your most recently read favorite book?
I’m going to sound like a wagon jumper oner, but I’m in love with the Hunger Games!  The trilogy is amazing!  Although the last book was slightly disappointing, not in a terribly bad way, it just didn’t go exactly how I’d planned it all out in my mind…. Oh well, it was still a fabulous read!  And it wasn’t smutty or anything, because it was originally intended for young teens.  So nice not to have to read smut in order to get a good story!

3.  What's your favorite Spring Break memory?
Right off the top of my head, I’d say when I was a teenager and my friends and I would pack up and head to the beach by ourselves.  It made us feel so free to be able to go to the beach with just our gang no parent figures around.  It’s the small things ;).
Oh I just thought of another one!  I forgot this happened on Spring Break.  My friend, Ms. A., and I went to Disney (LOVE IT!) and had a fantastic time!  We did crazy things like walking up to total strangers and asking them if they remembered us, because they looked familiar. The best one was when we did that to a Japanese man who apparently didn't speak any English!  Hahaha! We laughed ALOT...  We did all 4 parks, and had multiple guys hit on us.  I think it was mostly Ms. A, but it was great =).  It was an awesome vacation and I'll never forget it.... Even though I might forget that I did it on Spring Break! Whoops!

4.  What do you put in your child's Easter basket? Or, for those w/o kids, what was put in your childhood basket?
I don’t put a ton of stuff in Firecracker’s Easter basket.  A small toy, a book and maybe if he’s lucky he’ll get a candy. It’s not much, but it’s better than nothing.  PLUS, Easter isn’t about getting, it’s about celebrating Christ’s resurrection.

5.  Do you get a summer haircut?
Yes,  when I originally read this question I thought “no”, but when I started thinking about it the answer is really yes.  Usually I decide to “grow my hair out”, but then it gets annoying and I go in and chop it off, this typically comes around about summertime.  So the answer is yes!

The Firecracker’s birthday was Wednesday so we’re having his “party” (just family) on Saturday!  How exciting =).

Hope you all have a great day!

Firecracker's Birthday

I honestly can't believe it.  3 years ago today my world changed forever for the better.  Firecracker made quite the entrance into this world and has been on the go ever since.

He is sweet, silly, stubborn, playful, constantly moving, thoughtful, attentive and kind.  I love him so much and I'm so greatful that God blessed the Hubs and I with this little man.

Happy Birthday, Firecracker!  Mommy loves you more than you will ever know!

Hope you all have a wonderful Firecracker's birthday!
