They had all kinds of things that I never even thought about a blind person using. Like a scrabble board that has a raised waffle pattern so the pieces stay in place. And playing cards that had braille on them.
Apparently, Helen had a genius I.Q. she graduated from the sister college to Harvard and she studied in Italian, Greek, French and English! It was a really enlightening trip. Even the kids liked it, and of course it's always cool to put learning into action.
This picture wasn't one I intended on taking, but the lady that worked at the museum was insistent that I take the kid's picture in the dining room. It was easier just to humor her than to fight it. |
